What we treat
when movement
needs attention
Mend treats neck pain, tension headaches, migraines, lower back pain, sciatica, sports injuries, tendonitis, post-surgical rehab, and movement issues for active patients from our clinic in Midtown Manhattan.
Whether you are dealing with something acute, recovering from surgery, or looking to perform at a higher level, Mend can help.
conditions
-
Neck pain is often tied to posture, stress, training, or how the neck and shoulders move together. Patients who spend long hours at a screen may develop stiffness and pain from sustained forward-head posture, also called tech neck. Neck tension can also contribute to tension headaches and some migraine patterns.
We evaluate how the neck, upper back, and shoulders are working together and identify the pattern behind the pain.
-
Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons patients come to Mend. Pain can range from a dull, persistent ache to sharp pain that radiates into the leg. This can include sciatica or disc-related pain.
We evaluate the spine, hips, and contributing movement patterns, then build a treatment plan based on our findings.
-
Joint pain rarely has one cause. It may involve the joint itself, the muscles and tendons around it, or compensation from another area. Patients come in with rotator cuff issues, hip impingement, runner's knee, and ankle problems that never fully resolved.
We evaluate the joint, the surrounding tissue, and the movement patterns involved.
-
Nerve irritation and tendon pain often develop gradually and require both symptom relief and progressive strengthening. Patients describe numbness, tingling, sharp pain along a nerve path, or a tendon that flares with use and calms with rest.
We identify what is irritating the nerve or tendon and build a plan to reduce symptoms while progressively rebuilding strength.
-
Active patients come to Mend after an injury, whether it happened recently or has been lingering. We evaluate how it happened, what is still contributing, and build a rehab plan specific to the activity and timeline the patient is working toward.
-
Some patients come to Mend with no injury at all. They want to train harder, train safer, or prepare for something specific. Patients training for marathons, IRONMAN or triathlon events, Hyrox, CrossFit Open, or competitive sport work with a clinical team that understands their training demands and where their body needs support.
This can include strengthening areas that are not supporting the movement well, addressing mobility limitations that affect form, and identifying compensation patterns before they lead to injury. Care is planned around the training cycle and performance goals.
-
Patients come in because something feels off in how they stand, sit, or move, even when there is no acute pain. Sustained positions and repeated patterns can contribute to discomfort, stiffness, and injury risk over time.
A movement, posture, or ergonomic assessment at Mend evaluates alignment and movement quality. Based on the findings, the team recommends targeted treatment, corrective exercise, and workstation adjustments.
-
Patients recovering from orthopedic surgery need post-surgical physical therapy that is coordinated with their surgeon's protocol. At Mend, post-surgical rehab is guided by the treatment plan and adjusted as healing progresses, with physical therapy and additional supportive care when appropriate.
We coordinate with your surgeon directly to stay aligned on timeline, precautions, and milestones.
-
Ongoing care helps identify movement patterns that increase injury risk. Patients who train regularly benefit from consistent check-ins to ensure care is aligned with their activity level and goals.
how we treat
The services below describe the types of care available at Mend. Most patients receive a combination based on their treatment plan. The specific mix depends on what the evaluation shows and what the team recommends.
-
Sports medicine
Dr. Jean-Pierre evaluates musculoskeletal injuries, assesses movement, and determines the cause of the problem. For patients who need injections, he performs image-guided injections in-house. He also coordinates referrals when care beyond Mend is needed.

Acupuncture & dry needling
Mend offers two distinct acupuncture approaches. Dr. Grover integrates acupuncture and dry needling into his chiropractic care. Physical therapy
Dr. Levy designs and delivers rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient's condition and goals.
